We Are Looking For New Board Members

The Friends of the Palm Springs Library has openings for new Board Members.

We are creating a pool of applicants for the openings. Anyone interested in applying, please contact Nanci Morrison via email at njmorrison@aol.com.

Architecture and Design Book Sale

Saturday, October 21st.

Come to the main library from 10AM – 4PM and buy vintage, gently used architecture and interior design books.  

We will also feature autographed copies of famed interior designer Christopher Kennedy’s book “Making Midcentury Modern”. 

Alan Hess will appear from 12 – 2pm to sign books and The Best Bookstore of Palm Springs will be on hand to sell a variety of his books for purchase.

Teen Maker Space Project & Summer Reading Grants!

We have exciting news. We have received a $25,000 grant from the Anderson Children's Foundation for our teem maker space project and $10,000 from US bank for our summer reading program.

We have received a $25,000 grant from the Anderson Children's Foundation for our Teen Maker Space Project AND $10,000 from US Bank for our Summer Reading Program!

The Palm Springs Public Library Teen Maker Space will allow Teens and Tweens to explore their interests in Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math in a no-pressure environment. The Teen Maker Space will include STEAM kits, iPads, robots, 3-d printing, Craft Printers, and a Mobile Maker Cart.

A little bit about the Teen Maker Space Project:

The Palm Springs Public Library Teen Maker Space will allow Teens and Tweens to explore their interests in Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math in a no-pressure environment. The Teen Maker Space will include STEAM kits, iPads, robots, 3-d printing, Craft Printers, and a Mobile Maker Cart.


The circulating STEAM kits will allow students access to science experiments, art projects, and math-inspired activities in their own homes. These kits will come fully stocked with everything they need to complete the activities. Using Technology such as IPads, Sphero Robots, Hue Animation Studio and Snap Circuits the Teen Maker Space will become an environment where students can learn coding, animation, digital art skills, and graphic design through both structured programs and open play. The IPads will have access to Procreate Sketch, Paint, Create, and Pixton. Programs will include access to 3-d printers, craft printers, a button maker, and a Mobile Maker Cart. The Mobile Maker Cart will be stocked with supplies for creativity and learning through exploration. Teens and Tweens will have an environment where they have the freedom to explore STEAM topics and make connections with peers.
